Athletic Booster Club
The Wharton Athletic Booster Club (WABC) is an organization composed of parents, staff, alumni, friends and businesses. We promote the total athletics program of Wharton Independent School District (WISD) in compliance with the University Interscholastic League (UIL) regulations. We provide additional support to all athletic programs at the Wharton High and Junior High School through volunteerism and financial support. We purchase supplies, equipment, and/or capital items beyond the school athletic budget provides. We offer scholarships to eligible senior applicants. Joining the WABC and volunteering at school events are great ways to support students and raise school spirit with the community.
The Annual membership fee is $20.00 per family. We are responsible for all Junior High concessions for all volleyball, basketball and football games. These nights provide the necessary income the club needs to provide scholarships and assistance to the students and the Wharton Athletic program at WISD. In order to qualify for a scholarship the athlete’s parent/legal guardian must be a member of the Wharton Athletic Booster Club for the current school year no later than the Tuesday following Labor Day and have a designated adult or responsible high school student volunteer a minimum of 3X’s in the Fall and 3 X’s in the Spring.

The Wharton Athletic Booster Club is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization. We work to promote Tiger spirit as well as raise money for all the recognized sports in Wharton Independent School District throughout the school year. Manning concession stands, selling spirit items, hosting tailgating parties and coordinating sporting events keeps us very busy.
Through the hard work of our members and sponsors, we were able to help fund multiple projects last year. We hosted the Annual Sports Banquet and presented 10 scholarships to seniors that will be continuing their education.
As parents, friends, family, and community it is important that we show our support to these student-athletes.
The club is working hard to increase membership and participation. Individual and family memberships are only $20.00 per year. We also have Corporate Sponsorships with sponsorship levels ranging from $50.00 to $2500.00. The cost per sponsorship is as follows: Banquet Sponsor- $50, Brass Sponsor- $100, Bronze Sponsor-$250, Silver Sponsor- $500, Gold Sponsor- $1000 and Platinum Sponsor- $2500.
